Antwerp/Lillo Site, BELGIUM

Site Overview

Our operations at Antwerp/Lillo Site produce chlorine, caustic soda, potassium hydroxide and hydrogen for use by INOVYN, and HDPE and PPE for use by INEOS O&P. The Site has a world-class membrane electrolysis unit and delivers chlorine via pipeline to large industrial customers in the Antwerp chemical cluster. Most of the chlorine produced at the Site is used by BASF for the production of isocyanates. BASF returns the major part of the chlorine as hydrogen chloride gas back to INOVYN at our Antwerp/Zandvliet Site, where it is transformed into ethylene dichloride. The caustic soda produced at the Site is delivered to a large number of customers by pipeline, ship and tanker. Hydrogen is compressed on site and injected by a major industrial gas company into its transnational hydrogen network.

The Site has the following management system certifications - ISO 9001:2015 for Quality; ISO 45001:2018 for Safety and Health; ISO 14001:2015 for Environment; ISO 50001:2018 for Energy. The Site also fully complies with the requirements of OSHAS 18001:2007 on Occupational Health & Safety Management.
